I wonder (and perhaps some others) why you are still contributing to MJ 12 then ? Is your bandwidth your own (personal) , or perhaps a corporate one ? Seems rather large for a USA private ISP line (unlike Europe ) .. Forgive the sceptisism , but after your last diatribe (*) , you returned and now again
seem unhappy .
I (Da-Grizz) also notice that you do not now seem to contribute to any other DC World projects but you did in the past (BIG TIME) MJ 12 seems to be your only effort this year . Not one altruistic project (non DC Vault) , such as Quake Catcher Network or Distibuted Data Mining or Test4Theory ect bear your name (or Hard OCs for that matter correct me if I am wrong) .
Not any sort of Flame atall , atall , but as Sir Alex has said in the past If you dont like it (Arrrrrrrrr) stop contributing to MJ 12 you will still get the Divi from your past efforts - after the PAL (Profit And Loss) has been audited for that (or given) period .
So Why are you still contributig to MJ 12 ?? (And Sir McCoy , who you claimed was a neibour you claimed you persuaded to leave MJ 12) if you are so negative ?
Inquiring minds want to know .

Hey - sorry for not getting back to you right away, I just got back from the hospital after a few days stay where I was first time diagnosed with type I Diabetes.
The reason I still contribute and the only reason is to keep our team standing for the purpose of the DC-Vault.
My ISP connection is a private one here at my home and I'm currently scaled back from my previous 100mb to 50mb just to save an extra $60/month on my bill. I'm just lucky to live in a city that has a major ISP that offers very large bandwidth.
As for not contributing much to other D.C. Projects - I am contributing a little in a few but during summer months my electric bill shoots very high because of air conditioning in the very hot state I live in but during winter I fire up 3 servers, 6 very OC'd multicore PC's and anywhere from 8-16 top end video cards depending on how cold it is. I can lower my natural gas use in the winter and use heat from computers for the house and save a good amount of money but when summer comes back in I have to reduce computer output as the temp rises. As of today we are just coming off a 5 week stretch of 90-105F temps everyday with 65-75 dew points.
As for my unhappiness with the project I think my posts clearly spell out the issues that perturb me the most. I am sure I will continue to see issues that I feel are unfair to the members and disagree with the way in which the admin deals with them.
So in closing - I will still be here contributing for the foreseeable future and will be compelled to point out issues that will be explained away or blamed on this or that as it seems there is no accountability by the admin, but I will defend myself with great out spoken vigor if I am addressed in immature provocative language as I tend to receive every time I point out anything that seems to tarnish the admins self perception of perfection.
As we all have seen many times (not just in this instance)... Alex says it will be on this day or that day and we all say to ourselves "he means to say next week if we are lucky".
Thanks for the inquiry Grizz, Happy crunching to ya. _________________ Proud Member of Team [H]ard|OCP & the [H]ard DC Commandos |

Take it easy Razor, life is too short to fight stupid battles, especially those you can't win.
Some stats -
First payment took like 9 months to get completed.
Second payment took like 5 months.
Third payment (current) took 3 weeks.
****ing Paypal does not want to enable Mass payments for our account so I have to pay manually every single payment, they are ****s!
I don't think there are many distributed computing projects that are both commercially viable on one hand and on another hand pass part of commercial success to members.
It's nearly 8 years since project started and we not just still alive (how many projects or companies can say that after 8 years of existance?), we are also moving into the right direction.
Get this movie -

And watch it a few times - the land is somewhere out there ...

Yes new submissions will take priority over old, this way data is updated.
Apologies with delay for remaining payments - I'll process them tonight and will need to do something about members who don't have Paypal. |

I spend 1.5 weeks in the hospital last year , same reason .
Didn't know I had diabetes (type I), but I had unbelieveble thirst , and lost so much weight , I couldn't walk anymore . (My fault, I hate needles, I kept hoping it would ehm 'go away' ...)

Beleive it or not most type 1 diabetes can be dealt with by diet and exercise..BOTH very important..
Do some research and all my best!

Thanks guys, I'm doing very good with it. I have got it leveled out and under control now.
I had the same insatiable thirst and lost 50lbs in 3 weeks but have gained 10 of that back.
Life is pretty much back to normal.
- thanks for the shout out. _________________ Proud Member of Team [H]ard|OCP & the [H]ard DC Commandos |

Great to see you around! As MM said, diet and exercise is very important. But please, do it on your body's schedule. I've seen way too many people hear they need some exercise and immediately want to or think they need to exercise for 6 hours/day. Ultimately, they injure themselves and make matters worse. But please, do heed MM's advice. |

No offence , but I'm type I , type II is the one that can be dealt with using diet and excercise alone .
Meaning my body doesn't produce insuline , no diet/excercise helps against that .(I need meds)
And I'm in great shape , except my weight (need to gain ~15 kg's) , and I have a healthy diet .
But thanks for the advice anyway |

RedMetal - Sorry for the gross assumptions in my post. Personal wellness is a topic I get wound up about quite easily! It's still good to see you around.
rilian - Thanks! I owe it all to our good friend refic! Without him, I would not even be eligible for the Billionaire's club. My goal is the top 50, but I have to admit it's odd seeing my name among some long-time crawlers I thought I'd never catch. |
